Weekend staycation in Princeville!

This past weekend we had a little staycation on the North Shore of Kauai in Princeville. We have been wanting to do this for a while and since Cijay’s birthday was this week, we figured this would be a good time to do it! We stayed in a condo at The Cliffs and I was surprised with how nice it was! It seriously had everything you could possibly need! Our first day at the condo, we had friends and family over to the pool to celebrate Cijay’s birthday a little early, and surprisingly I didn’t get any pictures that afternoon because we were busing having too much fun!

Our first night was a little rough because Mia had an upset tummy, but thankfully with a little medicine and some rest she was good to go the next day. This was Mia’s first hotel experience, which also meant this would be the first time Mia would have to sleep in the same bed as us. She did great and slept like a champ, but Cijay and I however, did not! lol! Mia pretty much took over the whole bed and made it impossible for us to get comfortable, so it’s safe to say we are NOT fans of co sleeping.

We started our second day in Hanalei. We haven’t been back to that area since the flooding, so it was nice to finally get to come back and enjoy this beautiful side of the island. Our first stop was to get some donuts and coffee at Holey Grail Donuts! They make vegan donuts fresh to order and they are seriously amazing!!! The flavors were unique and so delicious, plus, they make their own organic cashew coconut milk to go in their cold brew coffee and it might be my new favorite coffee drink ever! We headed to the beach at Hanalei right after, but we unfortunately were only able to stay for a little bit because we got rained out. It actually worked out nice because we headed back to the room, got comfy, and all cuddle up to watch movies and just relax. That was the nice thing about this staycation, we just wanted to relax. I feel like we’re always busy and on the go, so it felt SO good to just take these few days and really relax! After a little relaxation inside, the sun came back out, so we hit the pool for a little bit. Later that evening we decided to use the grill on property and grill up some food for dinner. They also had a really cute putt-putt golf right next to the grill, so we got to cook dinner while we played with Mia and she loved golfing! We ended the day in a beautiful location just a few steps down from our condo and watched the sunset over looking Hanalei Bay! It was so peaceful and beautiful! I wish we could end every day like that!

Our third and final day we decided to head back to Hanalei to relax because it was the most perfect weather and we rarely venture down to Hanalei, so why not take advantage of going as much as we can! I hope we get more chances to do these little staycations. It was such a great way to unwind, and also a way for us to explore the island like tourist, which gives us a refreshing appreciation for the beautiful island we live on!

(Those are real rose petals on top of that donut! Not only did it taste amazing, but it was so pretty!)

(Just a little bit of what our relaxation looked liked!)

(When you get a hole in one!) lol

Love your posts! we’re going with our 4 year old and 2 year old sons this summer and will be staying at the cliffs – did they provide any water / beach toys for the kids? awesome to hear they have a putt putt and grill and great spot to see the sunset!

Welcome to my happily ever after life in Kauai! This site is a little peek into my life as a wife, mom, barre & ballet instructor and island adventurer. I’m not only here to share my life with you, but to hopefully inspire everyone to become better people; better to one another, better to the planet, and better to themselves. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
