When it’s a beautiful day outside we tend to go to the same beaches close to our house and spend our whole day there, but this past weekend we decided to try something different. We headed off to an area called Hideaways in Princeville. We both haven’t been to this beach in years so it was fun to revisit it again and this time with Mia! I actually didn’t have the intentions of making a post about this day, but we got so many photos, I figured, why not put them on the blog! The north shore is slowly becoming my favorite area to hang out on the island. From Moloa’a beach all the way up to Hanalei and Tunnels beach, it’s hard not to love this area when it’s so lush and beautiful.
Hideaways is accessible through a steep pathway behind one of the condos in Princeville. When I say steep, I mean steep! My calves were on fire walking up and down that pathway, it’s a concrete path so it’s easy to walk, just be prepared to get those thighs and calves working, haha. The walk down is so beautiful, you walk through a lush jungle with views of Hanalei, and at the bottom you are brought to an opening to a secluded little beach with lots of rocks. It’s not a beach fit for swimming, but it’s a great place to relax and explore the different sea creatures in the rocks. I love that there is usually never anyone down there, so you get to have a nice quiet time to yourselves. The view down there is beautiful too. It was a great place to bring Mia, there were small little ponds within the rocks that were perfect for Mia to play in and she had so much fun looking for hermit crabs and fish in all the rocks. We seriously had so much fun exploring and lounging all by ourselves on the beach, this might be my new favorite spot to go!
Just your typical mid morning tantrum, nothing to see here. A few minutes later we were back to normal and continued our walk down to the beach.
Here are some of the hermit crabs Mia found, she was so fascinated by them! She kept calling them “buggies” haha, but she loved them.
I would love a blog post on tips for relocating to Hawaii. Like the process itself and advice.
